James is a Writer & Director from Devon (UK) who is interested in telling playful human stories with a hands on and DIY approach.
​
His first short doc, The Scottish Play, premiered at the BFI London Film Festival in 2023.
​
His previous work includes an experimental adaptation of a poem by a working nurse for NHS England, The Man in Soiled Linen, a short comedy called Semi Skimmed and a zero budget drama called Wasted.
​
These films have screened at a range of Bafta qualifying and international festivals including The London Short Film Festival, The European Short Film Festival, MECAL Pro & The Manchester Film Festival.

James is currently studying at the American Film Institute and is based in Los Angeles. ​​
