James is a Writer & Director from Devon (UK) who is interested in telling playful human stories with a hands on and DIY approach.
His first documentary, The Scottish Play, premiered at the BFI London Film Festival in 2023.
His previous work includes music videos, commercial content and an experimental adaptation of a poem by a working nurse for NHS England, The Man in Soiled Linen. He has also directed a short comedy called Semi Skimmed and an adaptation of the Tempest for RIFT Theatre called The Isle is Full of Noises.
These films screened at a range of Bafta qualifying and international festivals including The London Short Film Festival, The Brest European Short Film Festival, MECAL Pro Barcelona & The Manchester Film Festival.
James is currently studying at the American Film Institute Conservatory and is based in Los Angeles.
